Animal Farm, although located in the hills,
borders on the Great River (the sixth or
seventh longest in Jamaica; depending on
whom is correct) in a deep valley.
Consequently, several micro-climates are to
be found on this relatively small piece of land.
It varies from quite dry, hot and rocky
terrain at the top and changes to a true rain
forest as one descends to the river. The fall
in temperature is clearly felt even at the
top of the steps to the left, above the river.
